El es ante todo Saxofonista, un saxofonista que ofrece a su público composiciones eminentemente personales, Impregnadas de todas estas músicas… « Catalán africano blanco » tal como él se identifica Don Billiez ha aprendido en sus recorridos iniciáticos desde su Cataluña pasando por Africa, Japon, EEUU… a contarnos historias…. sin preocuparse por los estilos o las etiquetas.

Con una treintenade músicos y cantantes, Don Billiez graba estos últimos años un sobre 10 composiciones originales evocando su manera de percibir el estado de nuestro mundo, hoy. Este himno a la tierra:inspirado en los años 70 . sublima melodias con lirismo latino; improvisaciones jazzisticas, tercermundistas olas Mediterraneas, provincias sureñas, viajes africanos, viajes espirituales: bolero… un último tango por la paz (Last Tangopor la Paz). Con Alma que se interpretan estas composiciones instrumentales,entremezcladas con canciones y poesías con languages multiples y reinventadosen cada fragmento de improvisacion

DON BILLIEZ – he calls himself the «white catalan african» – offers truly personal compositions and his saxophone is the one that tells the stories. No category or style could describe what you’re about to hear. Although Jazz seems to be a common element to it all.
Over 30 musicians and vocalists have contributed to this first solo album consisting of 10 original compositions. Planet earth is celebrated here in many different ways that are reminiscent of the 1970s jazz and its third-world consciousness. An album with soul (« con alma »), latin lyricism, jazz improv, mediterranean waves, african vibes… A mind trip too : a bolero, a last stango for peace (Last Tango Por La Paz), a J.B.’s-like funk cut (Kalimucho), a universal anthem (Amazonia)…
Songs, instrumentals and multi-language poetry alternate and reinvent the album track by track. The voices of Atef Sedkaoui, Kristel Dobat, Pape Abdu Seck, Tito Jorge Delgado mingle with Don Billiez’s saxophone.
